Our Practices

Our practices are structured around where organizations actually invest, operate, and either realize or lose value.

They are organized across six Value Realization Domains, each representing a distinct but interdependent source of economic, operational, and strategic outcome.

The Personnel Domain
The Personnel domain addresses how human capital contributes to value realization, not merely cost containment or capacity utilization. We focus on aligning roles, incentives, decision rights, and competencies with value-bearing outcomes. This includes assessing whether talent is deployed against the highest-value work, whether accountability for outcomes is clear, and whether skill development investments translate into measurable performance improvement. Value realization in this domain is achieved when people are enabled, governed, and rewarded in ways that directly support organizational priorities.

The Partners Domain
The Partners domain governs how value is created and preserved through external relationships. This includes advisory firms, technology vendors, system integrators, managed service providers, and strategic collaborators. We examine partner economics, incentive alignment, dependency risk, and outcome accountability. Our work ensures that partner arrangements amplify value rather than dilute it, and that third-party spend produces demonstrable contribution to organizational outcomes rather than unmanaged obligation.

The Platforms Domain
The Platforms domain encompasses the technology and infrastructure foundations on which modern organizations operate. This includes cloud, data platforms, enterprise applications, and core infrastructure. Our work in this domain focuses on economic optimization across consumption, commitment, capacity, and architectural decisions. Practices such as Cloud Economic Optimization ensure that platforms scale value proportionally, rather than scaling cost faster than benefit.

The Products Domain
The Products domain addresses how offerings, whether external products or internal services, generate value over their lifecycle. We focus on the economics of product investment, including funding models, cost structures, demand signals, and realized return. This domain ensures that product decisions are informed by evidence of value contribution and that underperforming products are corrected, restructured, or retired with discipline.

The Programs Domain
The Programs domain covers initiatives, transformations, and change efforts that consume significant capital and attention. We focus on ensuring that programs are anchored to explicit value hypotheses, governed through realization milestones, and managed as value portfolios rather than isolated projects. Success in this domain is measured by outcomes delivered, not activity completed or budgets consumed.

The Practices Domain
The Practices domain encompasses the patterns, policies, procedures, and management disciplines that shape how work gets done. This includes areas such as Innovation Debt Management, IT Investment Management, financial governance, and operating cadence. We focus on maturing these practices so that value realization becomes repeatable and resilient, rather than dependent on individual effort or episodic intervention.

Together, these six domains form an integrated system. Value realized in one domain is often enabled or constrained by another. Our approach ensures that organizations optimize across domains rather than sub-optimizing within silos, enabling sustained, defensible value realization at enterprise scale.
